Meet the Consultants

Meet the Administrative Staff

Gail Engblom, CPC, QPA, QKA
Senior Account Executive

With its constantly changing laws, the pension service industry requires a distinctive type of problem-solver. That is exactly why Gail Engblom has been such a valuable administrator at Alaska Pension Services. Gail is the Vice President of APS and has been with the company since 1986. Gail has earned the designations of Certified Pension Consultant (CPC), Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) and Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA). She also helps manage the computer network system at APS. With over 18 years of experience in the industry, Gail has operated on the belief that no two clients are alike and each one deserves a personalized approach to their plan administration. Gail is always on the go, planning and participating in the Sports Car Club of America road rallies, and quilting when she has the time.

Jan Holsinger, QPA
Account Executive

Jan Holsinger hired on with APS in 1986 and worked in the Anchorage office until 1998. At that time she moved to Eagle, Idaho and subsequently opened up the Idaho office of APS. Jan finds it very rewarding to help her clients and their employees save for their future retirement. Jan has earned the Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) and Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designations. She brings efficiency, accuracy and hard-work to the company. Her drive to succeed and her level of energy have contributed to the success of APS. Jan enjoys spending time with her husband, watching her daughter play softball, and caring for her Caviliar King Charles Spaniels, Nillie and Maddie.

Cassie Jeremias, QKA
Account Executive

Cassie Jeremias joined the company in 1994 as the Receptionist.  When she first started with APS, Cassie was intrigued by the challenging nature of the industry and began preparing to earn a designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA).  She has since worked her way through the ranks as Billing Manager, Assistant Pension Administrator & Pension Administrator.  In January 2005, Cassie was promoted to Account Executive after earning the designation of Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) from ASPPA. Cassie's analytical thinking style serves APS well as she helps manage the APS computer network and ensures that the company is up-to-date with new technology. When she’s not hard at work at the office, Cassie has a husband and two sons who keep her just as busy - camping, fishing, ATV'ing and running their own computer business.

Shirleen Noble, QPA, QKA
Account Executive

Shirleen Noble has been at Alaska Pension Services for over fifteen years. She was hired as the Receptionist in 1987, became interested in the industry because of the challenging nature of the business and moved into pension administration in 1988. Shirleen has been certified as a Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) and a Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) and currently holds the position of Account Executive. She is dedicated to helping her clients understand the details of retirement plan administration. Shirleen and her husband Dick have kept busy with 4 children and 9 grandchildren. She holds the title for “largest family” at APS and enjoys sewing, crafts and reading.

Terry Archibald
Assistant Pension Administrator

Terry Archibald joined Alaska Pension Services in the Spring of 2006 as a Pension Administrative Assistant. Terry has more than 20 years experience with money management and law firms, and is excited to put that experience to work in the pension administration industry. She will soon be studying the first of the ASPPA Pension Administrator series of exams, with plans to pursue long term advancement within ASPPA's designation programs. When she is not working, Terry enjoys gardening, reading, gourmet cooking, and spending time with her family.

Julie Goodwin
Assistant Pension Administrator

Joining Alaska Pension Services in January of 2007 as Pension Analyst and Documentation Specialist, Julie Goodwin is no newcomer to the retirement and benefit plans world, with 2-year’s of prior experience with retirement plan administration. Julie was raised in Plainfield, WI, graduating from UW-Steven Point in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, and working on an Associates degree in Accounting. Having already completed ASPPA’s PA-1,2,3 testing, Julie looks forward to working on and taking the QPA exams and furthering her education in retirement plans. Julie, her Air Force husband and their 16-month old son have lived in Alaska for three months and are expecting another baby in August. When not working, studying or spending time with her family and 2 dogs, Julie enjoys skiing and playing volleyball with friends.

Suki Horton
Assistant Pension Administrator

Suki Horton joined Alaska Pension Services in January 2007, as a Pension Administrative Assistant. Born and raised in Anchorage, Suki graduated from East High School in 2000 and is currently working to complete her degree in mathematics at the University of Alaska, Anchorage (UAA). She also looks forward to taking the classes and studying for the ASPPA pension administrator series of exams to further her career with APS. When asked why she wanted to join APS, Suki said that Karen Jordan’s enthusiasm and vision for APS made Suki want to jump on board and become part of the team. Suki’s high energy and love of a good challenge should serve her well here at APS. Suki grew up competitive ski racing (retiring in 2003), and is now learning to skate ski and is playing adult soccer with friends for fun. When she’s not in school, working or playing, Suki enjoys her two white Boxers named Joe Louis and Tyson.

Julie Mayer
Assistant Pension Administrator

Julie Mayer is no stranger to APS. Not withstanding the fact she is the wife of an owner, Julie has previously been the Billing Manager and Office Manager at APS (from 1997 to 2000). Julie is very task-oriented and self-motivated; combining those traits with her attention to details makes her a very efficient and effective assistant. Julie works in our Idaho office(s) with Jan Holsinger, but also assists other Account Executives as needed. Outside of APS, Julie enjoys doting on her granddaughters (who live close enough to make it easy and often).
